This exbeeriment tested a split batch of pilsner, half stored cold and the other half ambient.

https://www.homebrewersassociation.org/how-to-brew/impact-storage-temperature-beer/

The results suggested people could distinguish between the beers. More people liked the ambient stored beer bizarrely. But it sounds like the beer stayed more stable under cold conditions.

How do you store your beer? In a temp controlled fridge? Cellar? Garage? Shed? Or ambient in the house?

I keep most of my bottles under the floor, which keeps it at about 12C in winter and about 16-18C in summer. Cooler than the house, with no electricity cost. I always have maybe 10-12 bottles in my fridge in the kitchen.

Have you noticed problems from storage temperature, or differences when stored differently?

Mine are in the shed, so freezing in winter (chill haze and all), hot in summer. Had a couple of dunkelweizen explode in there, high carbonation plus heat and old bottles to blame.

All my beer in there has become over carbonated, which I assume is down to the heat.
And weirdly they taste like my shed smells. No idea how that happens.

I'm the same as Gareth, in the shed. No issues for me as yet. Though I don't particularly like storing them in there in the heat, only the roof gets full sun so lower parts of the shed don't get too hot.

On shelves in the garage for most of the year, but into the ferm fridge over summer, as even the low shelves can hit 25+C on very hot days. Thanks to a recent fridge acquisition I've now got a dedicated 11-12C storage & conditioning chamber.

Does it involve donating my beer to you?

Ever the helpful soul.
There's not a lot in my shed to smash at the moment. Worryingly low stocks.

Once I bottle my Pilgrim bitter I'll be somewhere between 100 and 150 bottles, best I've been for a while.

The two in the brew fridge and the Bitter grist waiting to go should see me back over the 100 mark fortuanately.
