Hello HBUK group,

I have a question, at work the catering department have 25 litre metal Oil cans, which i believe are circular. Do you think these, with a good clean out, be useful for a boiler conversion?
They have only contained cooking oil.

Many thanks

Hey OP [smile] Welcome to HBUK.

Are you referring to these?

If so, no - whilst in theory a steel vessel, they're too thin and flimsy to cut for element installation etc, as well as being made from plastic coated mild steel internally - this coating would not stand boiling and the cans would rust in short order.

Your better choice would be one if the PP buckets sold specifically for conversion, or look into a steel burco type water boiler to convert.
Beer is like porn - you can buy it easily enough, but its so much more fun to make it [wink]
